Saints Simon and Jude were two of the twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. Simon is often called 'the Zealot,' distinguishing him from Peter. Jude, also known as Thaddeus, is traditionally identified as the author of the Epistle of Jude in the New Testament.
They exemplify unwavering commitment to Christ and the mission of spreading the Gospel, even to the point of martyrdom. Their lives remind us of the call to bear witness to our faith through our words and actions.
O God, by the preaching of your Apostles Simon and Jude, you have brought us to acknowledge your name; grant that, through their intercession, we may advance in grace and love of you. Amen.
