Nazarius and Celsus were early Christian martyrs put to death at Milan, venerated there since the earliest centuries of the Church. In the year 395, Saint Ambrose discovered the relics of Nazarius, along with those of the young Celsus, and solemnly enshrined them in Milan, where devotion to the two martyrs spread throughout the Christian world.
Little is recorded of their lives, yet their witness endured: they gave everything for Christ, and the Church never forgot them. They remind us that faithfulness matters more than fame, and that a life offered quietly to God bears fruit long after it is hidden from the world's sight.
Lord, through the intercession of Saints Nazarius and Celsus, give us courage to stay faithful to You in all things, and gather those we love, living and departed, into Your eternal peace. Amen.
