Saint Vincent Ferrer was born in Valencia, Spain, around 1350 and entered the Dominican Order as a young man. He became one of the most renowned preachers of his age, traveling across Spain, France, Italy, and other parts of Europe calling people to conversion, and he worked to heal the Western Schism that divided the Church. He died in Vannes, France, on April 5, 1419, and was canonized in 1455.
Vincent poured out his whole life so that others might turn their hearts back to God, walking from town to town with tireless love. He reminds us that hope and healing are possible even in times of division and sorrow, and that a single faithful voice can bring light to many. His trust that God gathers what is broken speaks gently to every grieving heart.
Saint Vincent Ferrer, faithful messenger of God's mercy, pray for us and for all we love, that our hearts may rest in the hope of heaven. Amen.
