Saint Thomas was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus, remembered for doubting the Resurrection until he saw and touched the risen Lord, when he cried out, 'My Lord and my God!' Ancient tradition holds that he carried the Gospel east, preaching in India, where he died a martyr near present-day Chennai.
Thomas shows us that honest doubt, brought to Jesus, can become the deepest faith — his questioning heart gave the Church one of its clearest confessions of who Christ is. He reminds us that God is patient with our struggles to believe, and that love keeps seeking even through grief and uncertainty.
Lord Jesus, as You met Thomas in his doubt, meet us in ours; help us to touch Your wounds with faith and say with all our heart, 'My Lord and my God.' Amen.
