Saint Paul of the Cross

Saint Paul of the Cross, born Paolo Francesco Danei, was an Italian mystic and founder of the Passionists. He dedicated his life to preaching the Passion of Jesus Christ and fostering devotion to it. He established communities of priests and brothers who lived a life of austerity and evangelization.

Saint Paul of the Cross inspires us through his profound devotion to the suffering of Christ and his tireless zeal for souls. His example calls us to meditate on the sacrifice of Jesus and to share that love with others, even amidst hardship. He teaches us the power of prayer and penance in drawing closer to God.

O God, who gave Saint Paul of the Cross a burning love for the Passion of your Son, grant through his intercession that we may always bear in mind the sufferings of Jesus and thereby attain eternal glory. Amen.
