Saint Bridget was a noblewoman, wife, and mother of eight children in 14th-century Sweden. After her husband's death, she dedicated herself more fully to a religious life, founding the Bridgettine Order. She spent her later years in Rome and on pilgrimages, advocating for Church reform.
