Saint Apollinaris is traditionally revered as the first bishop of Ravenna, Italy. He is believed to have preached the Gospel in the region and to have suffered martyrdom there. Accounts of his life, though varied, consistently place him as a significant early Christian figure in Emilia-Romagna.

Saint Apollinaris's example reminds us of the courage and dedication of early missionaries who laid the foundations of faith in new lands. His steadfastness in spreading the Gospel, even in the face of adversity, encourages us to be bold in living and sharing our own faith. He inspires us to remain rooted in Christ, just as he planted the seeds of Christianity.

Saint Apollinaris, you faithfully brought the light of Christ to new shores. Pray for us, that we may have the courage to witness to our faith and to persevere in love and service.
