Saint Agnes of Montepulciano (c. 1268–1317) was a Dominican nun in Tuscany who entered religious life as a young girl and became prioress at a remarkably early age. She founded a monastery at Montepulciano and was renowned for her deep prayer, austerity, and reported mystical experiences. She died on April 20, 1317, and was canonized by Pope Benedict XIII in 1726.
Agnes shows that holiness does not wait for age or status; she gave herself wholly to God from childhood and led others with humility and gentleness. Her life of quiet prayer and service reminds us that faithfulness in hidden things bears lasting fruit.
