Saint Colette was born in 1381 in Corbie, France, and after living for a time as a hermit, she devoted her life to restoring the Poor Clares to the simple, poor way of life of Saint Clare. She founded and reformed many monasteries across France and beyond, and the branch of the order she renewed is still called the Colettine Poor Clares. She died on March 6, 1447, and was canonized in 1807.
Colette shows that a quiet, hidden life given fully to God can renew the whole Church. She began small, with prayer and simplicity, and trusted God to do the rest — a gentle reminder that faithfulness in little things matters more than grand plans.
